My Go-To Lipsticks This Summer

25 February 2018

You can count on me to wear lipstick pretty much everyday - or at least every time that I wear makeup. I only really started wearing it back in late 2015, but since then it's been one of my favourite parts of my makeup routine. I love how it can pull together and complete or change a look so easily, and there are always so many fab colours to choose from (too many, really, but I'm not complaining).

While I wear all of my lipsticks regardless of the time of year, there are definitely a few that are getting some special attention this summer, which I've rounded up and listed below!

L-R: KVD Cathedral, MAC Amorous, MAC Faux, Stila Patina.
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in 'Cathedral'
This is my absolute favourite lipstick at the moment, and it's the perfect shade to wear with any neutral or warm toned summer look. Cathedral is described as a 'matte coco rose', which is pretty much accurate although I've found that on me at least it has a bit more of a reddish undertone also which I absolutely love. It looks great paired with bronze or warm brown eyeshadows in particular, which has become my signature look this summer - I'm obsessed. I'm pretty sure this shade is universally flattering, so you can't go wrong!

MAC Satin Lipstick in 'Amorous'
Another MAC lipstick I've been loving for summer, Amorous is a gorgeous shade described as a 'lovestruck cranberry', though I see it as more of a berry toned deeper pink. I find this colour super flattering on my pale cool toned skin, and if you have brown eyes then I definitely think it really makes them pop!

MAC Satin Lipstick in 'Faux'
Faux will always hold a special place in my makeup collection as my first ever high end lipstick. It's the perfect 'my lips but butter' shade for me, a soft pink neutral lipstick that can be worn with any look. The satin formula is super comfortable especially in this Queensland summer heat, and while it reapplies nicely, because it's a 'MLBB' shade you don't need to worry about constant reapplication - low maintenance, perfect!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in 'Patina'
This was the first liquid lipstick I ever bought and actually liked. I can be pretty picky with liquid lips because I find a lot of them bleed, crack, go patchy, and just feel awful on the lips, but Patina is none of those things. It's a lovely dusty rose pink that is so flattering on my pale cool-neutral skin - deep enough to remain in my comfort zone but still bright enough to 'pop', and it just screams 'Spring/Summer' to me. If you're looking for liquid lipstick in an understated shade that's comfortable and cute, then this is the one for you!

What are your favourite lipsticks to wear over summer? Let me know in the comments below!

SurfStitch Summer Swimwear

20 March 2017

With the intense heat of the warmer season here in QLD, I'd been on the lookout for some new swimwear so that I could hit the water and cool down in style. I'd looked at a few local swimwear stores but nothing was quite right, and didn't know of many online stores that I felt I could trust.

That is, until I was contacted by SurfStitch. I recognised the name, though I still don't know exactly where or how I'd heard of them, just that I had. The SurfStitch team was really friendly and gave me the chance to pick out some cute swimmers and experience their online service and delivery for myself.

I ordered the Rusty Cruise ribbed bikini top and bottom*, which were conveniently on sale at the time and came to a total of $43 along with $5.95 for shipping. I wasn't sure what to expect with shipping times, having experience everything from next day delivery to waiting over a month for a Topshop order once upon a time. Needless to say, when the package was dropped off three days later, I was pleasantly surprised.

The whole process, from searching the website and selecting your favourite items to add to your shopping cart, to checking out and paying and finally receiving your delivery was super straight-forward and easy. I've had some bad luck online shopping in the past which often leaves me cautious of using new online retailers but SurfStitch left me comfortable and confident in my experience. The company is based in Australia, which is big plus for supporting local business, and also guarantees speedy delivery and easy returns.

If you're looking for surf or swimwear, or beachside accessories, then I'd recommend checking out SurfStitch!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY | Print & Bow

27 March 2016

My Outfit:
Top: Dissh
Shorts: Dissh
Bracelet: ASOS
Sandals: Kmart

Hey loves! Hope you've had a lovely week - I'm so sorry for the lack of posts over the last few days! I've been a bit busy (I got a new job at last, after almost 5 weeks back in Brisbane!!) and honestly a little bit unmotivated, but it's holidays and I knew I needed to get my butt into gear and get back into things!

Last weekend Dissh was having a 20% off all full priced items sale, so of course I picked up some things! The top and shorts normall would have totalled $100 but I grabbed them for $80 and I'm so so happy because I just love them! The shorts are the cutest and look really nice/dressy and classy, perfect for almost any occasion. And the top is high-neck (hello obsession) and black (hello again, obsession) and cropped (yup hello!!) so of course I'm loving it! And I think that put together they make the cutest lil' outfit that I wore to uni the other day actually!

What do you think of this look? Let me know below xx

OUTFIT OF THE DAY | Suede & Minimal

4 March 2016

My Outfit:
Top - Factorie
Bag - Colette
Shorts - Temt
Bracelet - Diva
Signet Ring - Prouds
Shoes - Kmart

These shorts are fast becoming one of my favourite statement pieces in my wardrobe. I love the colour, and I love that suede is in because I've always been obsessed with it and being able to wear it out and about is the best thing ever!

These shorts are so comfy and paired with minimal black pieces and some simple silver jewellery, it's a very casual yet put together look. I actually wore this outfit the other day for my first day back at uni and I felt super comfortable and stylish in it.

I hope you're all well and have an amazing week!

Brazilian Bikini Review

15 December 2015

Hey guys, today I've got a review of a great bikini* for you - and just in time for Summer!

Recently, Nadia from FitRebel.com reached out to me asking if I'd like to pick out and try out one of the many lovely Liquido brazilian bikini's available on her site. This couldn't have been at a better time, with Summer coming up and all!

So a bit of a background on FitRebel and the Brazilian bikini style.

FitRebel is an online store with a great selection of fitness wear, swimwear and accessories which are both highly functional and super trendy. The pieces are totally unique, and I honestly haven't been able to find similar pieces in your everyday store at your local shopping centre - so you don't have to worry about everyone else wearing the same thing as you!

Now the bikini itself is in the brazilian style, influenced by Brazilian culture and trends. It's a flattering cut for many people and has slowly been edging its way into western swimwear and fashion.

As you can see, I've gone for a classic style or look with this bikini - however if you prefer colourful or more modern/fun swimwear then they certainly have those options too - I simply love my classics and neutrals, not to mention black always looks good!

This is simply a really cute, fashionable bikini. The top is padded in a halter-neck style, also tying up at the back. It's super comfy on, however my only issue is that because I'm extremely flat it does feel a little loose on the chest (due to the padding being there), however this problem is across the board for me and certainly not specific to this particular bikini. The pants fit perfectly, and with the Brazilian cut are totally flattering (and great for tanning in)! I also love the bead detail on the hips, it adds that extra something to an otherwise plain bikini.

The material is really nice quality, it's comfortable, and it's the perfect thickness for wearing to the beach or pool - ie. it's not super thick and weighing you down, nor is it super thin and flimsy making you worry it'll come off if the water moves against you in the wrong way - it's the perfect inbetween!

Overall, I really like and recommend the Liquido Brazilian bikinis and in particular, this gorgeous, classic black two piece. They're super affordable and a great option to add to your summer wardrobe so head on over to FitRebel.com now and grab one before they're sold out!
